And now I’d like to introduce you to the Park Rangers.”
Ranger 1:
[Say warmly to the campers,] “Welcome to our beautiful National Park.  And the reason that I say our,
is becausethis park belongs to all of us – to visit, enjoy and to care for.”

“Does anyone know what our National Parks symbolize?”
Camper 2:

“That’s right – everyone is welcome here.  And how do our National Parks relate to our history and our future?”
Camper 7:
“My Mother says that the mountains, lakes, rivers, and even lots of the trees were here
long before we were born, and they’ll be here long after we leave the earth.”
Ranger 1:

Excerpt from the Chisago County Press article about the 2011 debut production of Land, Air & Water:
During their first month of rehearsals, Pierre Pleau arranged to have guest presenters come and speak to the cast on topics that related to the Musical.  President of the Wild River Audubon Society, Sue Leaf gave a slideshow presentation on winter birds.  Paul Dennison from Chisago County Household Hazardous Waste gave a presentation on recycling and solar energy.  And Wild River State Park Naturalist, Kacie Carlson gave a slideshow presentation on what it’s like to be a naturalist.  After her presentation, the cast performed the opening scene from the Musical for her and then much to their surprise, (prearranged by Pierre) Kacie joined them on stage with a script and played the role of the naturalist!  Before she left the rehearsal, Kacie invited the cast to come to Wild River State Park for a field trip to get a feeling of what it would be like if the Musical was held out in nature.  The cast gladly accepted the invitation and in mid Feb. they went on a snowshoe hike with her.  “This is great – I’m hardly sinking in!” exclaimed one of the cast members as we headed across the prairie.  “How deep is the snow here?!” and to answer the question, Naturalist Kacie Carlson knelt down and punched a hole through the white crystals to reveal that we were walking on top of 1 ½-2 feet of snow!
Even if we still have snow on the ground on March 25 and 26 – no jackets will be needed – we can guarantee that there won’t be any snow or rain on stage!  It’s a controlled environment – but don’t be surprised if a couple of raccoons sneak in after sunset!
